A couple weeks back, T and I came home from the dentist office lacking wisdom in more ways than one.
It wasn’t all bad though. We were given T-shirts in exchange for our teeth. The next day we wore the Chinese symbol for “wisdom,” and I realized this:
We’re never wise until we realize that we’re not. Only those who sense their lack think to ask.
Maybe my T-shirt could remind me: I lack. I really do.
And maybe it could remind me too: God is Wisdom—Infinite, Inexhaustible Wisdom. And He, right here, right now, gives it freely.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5
