Yesterday was bittersweet. It started out with a relative’s funeral that we played music for, then quickly moved into saying goodbye to the other half of our family. The girls are headed for Honduras to do the Lord’s work with 35 other young people via GYC and VIDA Internacional. The remaining three of us aren’t sure what we’re going to do without our sisters/daughters… We miss them and already look forward to seeing their smiling faces again.
Here is a message they wrote on the way to the airport yesterday:
Our dear family and friends…We three are off to Honduras! Please, please pray that we will reflect Jesus there… We’re on a mission to share Him, and we are counting on your prayers. The plan is to build a school, put on a VBS, conduct medical and dental clinics, and do evangelism. We step out of our comfort zones with confidence in the One whose name we go in! Pray for us as we sing and preach over the next several evenings, and picture us in our hard hats sending you our love…We’ll be back in a couple weeks, but in the meantime we’re headed toward no electricity, no internet, and no limits to what God can do…Your prayers sustain us.Expectantly,Shaya, Talea, and Tyli
This morning they called one last time before they left the country to say they were already missing us — we assured them that our prayers would be with them.
